LO4: Evaluating content, audio levels and flow of the final production (D2)

LO4: Final radio production

here is my final ratio production

LO4: Offline edit (P5)

I made 2 offline edits to the radio show to see if I preferred it with or without the sound effects

LO4: Editing and reviewing content (P5)

first I added all of the clips to audition to edit them put all of the induvual clips in the right order and made sure the sound was balanced I used the razor tool to take out the not needed bits and off clips that did not make sense or had to much background noice

then I formatted them into one sound clip for my offline edit so I could make all of the clips sound the same which fits with my radio show because they sound mostly the same volume

for my final edit I added a song into the radio show that fits the theme because we talk about a tv show the song is in i used the phone sound in tool to make the interview sound like it was over the phone which made the radio show more realistic and fitting to theme

I added background music and had it quietly in the background and stop for songs so I used the fade in and out tool to put in the sound because I did not have time for the hole song and was talking so did not want the song over my voice

I added a sound effect for winning the compition that I put over my background music using multitracks so I could play more than one sound at a time which makes it more professional

reviewing content

some of the content was not used in the final product because it did not fit or was not correctly worded or stuttering that made it sound unprofessional and did retakes that I edited out most of the content was correct and added into the raido show

LO4: Evidence of setting up equipment and recording (P5)

here I was setting up and recording into the microphone

this is where I was exporting the recording to edit it

treatment louie

Title of the show: The Shenanigans Show

The title of the podcast will be 'The Shenanigans Show' The purpose of our podcast is to entertain meaning the theme and atmosphere will generically be very fun and jokey featuring light hearted, comedic conversations covering topics to do with conspiracy theories and personal funny stories from both hosts as well as featured guests. The title of our radio show portrays the type of content the audience will be tuning in too as the word shenanigans conveys mischievous silly behaviour and the word 'show' further reinforcing the idea, as we are almost 'putting on a show' inferring we aim to entertain an audience.

Target audience: Our target audience ranges from ages of 16-25, we believed this was most suitable as the content we aim to produce may not be as suitable for a younger audience however will definitely appeal more towards the younger generation due to the theme and general personality's of both the presenters and guests.

Scheduling: The show will air between 7pm - 9pm was our target audience is young adults who are most frequently available between these times

Launch Date: We aim to launch our radio show around the 28/06/24 - 09/07/24, the reason for this is that it will be during summer time / holidays meaning people are available to tune in and listen. We have ensured to leave about a 10 day buffer zone for release incase of any problems during production, this will guarantee we have adequate time to fix any issues and make sure our show is appropriate to be publicly shared.

Key Personnel: Their will be two of us presenting the radio show (Louie, Saul) however we will feature at least one guest every week and aim to feature two guests on our first radio broadcast which will hopefully help to attract a larger audience.

Health and safety/Audio assets: We will make sure there is no exposed wires which could start fires/cause harm to any individual on the radio show, furthermore any tripping hazards like cords, bags, clothing etc is moved to the side, far enough that enough space is given to walk around the set safely.

Budget/Funding: We will display short advertisements from a local cafe/canteen which will help towards funding our radio show. our budget will be low as we all ready have most of the equipment provided as well as a location we can set up our equipment and broadcast from.

LO2 Technology and processes (M2)

LO1 Task 2: Ownership of different types of radio stations (P1)

  1. Natial radio : kiss

it is owned by a conglomerate Bauer Media Audio UK there is music and a bit of talking about sports and current events kiss has advertising for the masses for big company as an example tic tacs

 public radio  BBC radio 2

it is a public radio station so not part of a conglomerate there is news sports music and talking about storys and interviewing guests it dose not have adverts

 reagnal - hallam fm

hallam fm is a raido station in Sheffield that is owned by bauer media the target audience for the radio station is 25-44 years old playing contemory music and talking and advertising for local buinis and student events with there biggest presenter is big john who dose a breakfast show more females listen to hallam fm then men

it is owned by a conglomerate Bauer Media Audio UK there is music and talking there is adverts for local buisnis there is lots about student events and life 25-44 year old is the target audience south Yorkshire biggest radio station the station focuses on contemporary music, big john biggest presenter, Becky hayes, jk and joel are other presenters on the radio station the company has cross media ownership the company has horizontal integration so they can make a brand across 3 different media and with local and national raido there competitors - radio 1 - capital FM - BBC Sheffield - peak FM there audance figers from RAJAR selling figgers to advertise RAJAR use online diaries, audience sampling some of there statistics gender racio 54 female - 46 - male, stay at home mum make more of the persentige 7:10 - whats trending - news in the celebrity world which is inviting for mum. TSA - target sample area - Sheffield, doncaster, worksop

corporate social responsibility - part of being a conglomerate got to be seen giving back to the community

cash for kids - grate yourksure run - host meddowhall light switch on

sponcer both Sheffield football teams

community  - Sheffield live

it tells people about local events story music and advertising for local buisinis most music is from local bands and unsigned artists diverse audience to represent "community radio station are small scale not for profit radio stations operated for the good of the members of the public or particular community in order to diveler social gain". cominity raidos stations must previde a servace for underserved groups, must provide training or education to people not employed by the station most workers are volentirs. run by commedia Sheffield ltd its run by sangita basudev has to follow broadcasting act (1990) community radio order (2004) broadcast in Sheffield including dore meadohall diverse with asian and pop rnb some shows in Chinese and Hindi funded by advertising they can not get 50% more of there running costs vire adverting the rest from donations and the government and charity of com gives the station money can assess live, website

internet - The Joe Rogan Experience

it is owned by jo rogan who has a deal with spotifi it interviews people and dose advertise with hacing sponcers the people interbvuewd are infuancal or controversial to engage viewers

non profit - Be The Star You Are Inc

it is a charity to support people in need mainly women and childen strugling it talks about helping people it dose advertise local buisnis and chartys to help people

comparison

Based on the above, Kiss is made by a conglomerate, Hallam FM and Kerrang. They all have in common the fact that their audience is wide because they can use their subsidiaries to help them target a wide audience through contemporary and popular music. However, the stations above that doesn't have this integration is Sheffield Live which is a community radio station. Their aim is different to a conglomerate who want to make a lot of money whereas Sheffield Live's aim is to serve the underserved. This is why they don't play lots of contemporary music but music from different cultures. Both Indies and conglomerates both can use the opportunities of technological convergence to boost the amount of listeners due to both being able to broadcast via FM, DAB  and apps.

LO2 Multiplatform distribution (P3)

Mindmap the different platforms that your chosen radio station that you were analysing for LO1

the blue circles are the platforms and distribution methods I would use because it fits the the podcast theme and is aimed at younger people the Joe rogan podcast can be accessed online and though an app with a Spotify subscription Henry Jenkins (2008) helps to share the podcast with his black box devises that make tecnolical convergents easyer with Joe rogan being able to produce and quickly add it to the internet where millions of people can see it almost instantly with an audience of 14 million people to see it which is easy by black box devices that don't only help the producer but the listener to with easy access useing phone tvs and computers which also help because phones are portable so people can listen from anywhere if they have it downloaded or they connected to the internet
